Swami Shivananada was born in the Patamante in  Tamil Nadu region, in 1887.He was doctor in Malaya.       In 1924 was initiated  in the holy  order of   Dashnami Sannyasa from Swami Viswananda  Sarasvati. He  travelled a lot in all  over India, inspiring people to practice Yoga and live a divine life. In 1936 he   founded the Divine Life Society  in Rishikes, in 1945 the Sivananda Ayurvedic drugstore, in 1948 the -vedanta forest academy of yoga  and in 1957 he   founded  the Sivananda hospital for the eyes. He  guided thousands students and wrote more than  200 books
